There are not many times in life when you can say you feel truly welcomed. Not just accepted, but actually feeling as though your presence is desired and that there is an eager expectation to see what the future holds. In my short time thus far here at the Villas at Sunny Acres, this is most certainly how I have felt.
I’ve had the great fortune to meet many residents and staff who have been more welcoming than I could have hoped. And still more than that, across the board there is a desire to continue moving forward with making this community as loving as it can possibly be. What better place could a person ask for?
As many of you know, my role here as chaplain requires me to wear a lot of different hats, but the common connection between them all can be summarized in one word: servant. I am here to serve every single person on this campus, no matter your age, religious background, or whether you work or live here. My goal is to ensure that everyone is able to express their faith, whatever that may be, and to strive toward a peace filled soul. Not too much to ask for, right?
I’m looking forward to meeting more of you as the weeks go by, and if you ever need me, stop by the chaplain’s office on the 3rd floor of the Villas.
