I had the great pleasure of unboxing two framed recognitions for members of our staff. As a way for lifting up those who are going above and beyond, the leadership team can write a “Moment of Truth” which is recognized not only in this facility, but are accommodations that are shared with all other Ensign locations.
Moments of Truth are something we are always on the lookout for because we want to celebrate those times when our staff surpass our high expectations and make huge, lasting impacts on the community we have here. All of us have these opportunities to rise beyond what people expect and do great, loving things for those around us. Just like the staff we recognize, we don’t do it for accolades, but instead do it out of love.
We are always eager to point out how things can be improved, but how easy is it for us to focus on how far we have to go and not take time to see all the work and sacrifice there has been getting us to this point. Hope for perfection is not in vain, so long as it doesn’t interfere with thanking those who work to make it happen. Those unsung heroes ought to be lifted up as encouragement for themselves and those around who might see inspiration in the action of their peers.
Celebration is an integral part of being a loving community, and any chance we get to single out a fellow resident or staff member to thank them for their servant heart is time and energy well spent.
